Think big about service! Leadership and Civic Engagement offers many opportunities for participation in programs that focus on citizenship and service. From our record-setting blood drive, to opportunities to do service on foreign soil, there are countless ways to get involved.

Alternative Service Break
The Alternative Service Break (ASB) program is a unique learning experience in which students engage in direct service to a community, while being immersed in its culture and customs. Teams are led by students, and accompanied by faculty advisors. Throughout the trip, team members participate in a variety of cultural, educational, recreational and reflective activities to enhance their service experience. LEARN MORE

Clinton Global Initiative University
Building on the successful model of the Clinton Global Initiative, which brings together world leaders to take action on global challenges, President William Jefferson Clinton launched the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) in 2007. CGI U engages the next generation of leaders from college campuses around the world. NC State is a proud member of this network of colleges. Students with big ideas are invited to learn more about becoming a part of the NC State delegation to CGI U. LEARN MORE

Campus Pals
Created in 2003, Campus Pals connects NC State Students with area children for mentorship. Leadership and Civic Engagement and the YMCA of the Triangle (Alexander Family YMCA) partner in the after school program. Selected Pals (NC State students) are asked to commit to the program from October – April. LEARN MOREĀ 

Service NC State
Along with various community partners, Leadership and Civic Engagement presents Service NC State as an opportunity for students and other campus community members to engage in big event service projects. Each semester thousands of volunteers take part in projects like blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross, and the #WolfPackMealPack in partnership with Stop Hunger Now. LEARN MORE
