The world is constantly changing, and so are the social challenges facing civically engaged leaders each day. With sponsorship from University Housing’s Living and Learning Initiatives, the “Trending Topics: DC Trip” will explore complex issues related to equity, diversity, and social justice using the rich historical and cultural resources of Washington, D.C. Annually, the overarching focus of the trip is social change and equity; however, each year’s specific topic area will change, based on pressing issues facing college students. Potential themes include racial justice, economic disparities, hunger and homelessness, immigration safety, and any of a broad range of social issues.
