Habitat for Humanity
Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 13 million people achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter.
For more than 25 years, Habitat for Humanity has provided alternative school break volunteer opportunities to high school and college students. Known as the Collegiate Challenge, students from across the country partake in a week of service at various Habitat locations, ranging from Hawaii to Florida.
Lend a hand and serve the community as a part of this year’s ASB with the Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter at NC State. This is a domestic trip focused on community service. Students on the trip will address the need for affordable housing in the community by helping to construct or revitalize a house for a deserving family. There is no experience required regarding the use of power tools or other equipment. Habitat leaders will provide instructions and safety lessons. Students will work with the local Habitat affiliate for four days during the week, but there will also be plenty of time to immerse in local culture and experience the location chosen.
