New York City, NY

ASB-New York

Medici Project

This is a NEW trip this year!

The Big Apple! It’s almost impossible to not be inspired by the most famous and influential city on the planet. The “Concrete Jungle” deemed by Jay-Z, is home to a wide variety of cultures, art, business, religion, people, food, and random weird things you’ll see happening on the subway. With about 8 million in population, there’s no doubting that major assistance is needed for those experiencing urban poverty in such a large city.
Medici Project partners with a wide array of service organizations that are striving to help kids, elderly, the hungry, homeless, and practically any other need you can think of. Staying in the city gives Medici Project Alternative Breaks an added bonus experience because it’s as if by the end of the week, you feel a part of New York, like the culture has infected you.
From Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn, students will be able to experience service to those in need at such a macro level, it’s unlikely that these experiences will not affect how you live your lives from that point forward. Some projects and issues that Medici Project serves in are:
  • Homelessness
  • Education
  • Human Trafficking
  • Health
  • Food Desserts
  • Community Kitchens
  • Elderly
  • Community Development
