Park Scholarships

Priority will be given to students in the Park Scholarships Program

Teams in the past have done a variety of activities in support of the communities in the areas of San Pedro and Belmopan.  The Park Scholars on previous trips have completed a variety of service works over the past years.

Participants have worked at the Belize National Zoo where they reconstructed the stork habitat, refurbished zoo infrastructure, and constructed a wildlife themed playground. Scholars also distributed water filtration systems to the residents of San Mateo, providing them with an economical way of obtaining clean water. Participants have also volunteered at Holy Cross Anglican School where they repainted classrooms and interacted with the students during the day.

Trip members have been able to address the demands of the communities while experiencing Belize through trips to Mayan temples, snorkeling, and cave tubing.

Summer 2015, the Park Scholars trip will partner with Peacework to continue working on various projects in Belize.
