CSLEPS Summer Student Assistant Positions Open

The Center for Student Leadership, Ethics & Public Service is seeking applicants for two Summer Student Assistant opportunities. The Summer Student Assistants will serve as members of the CSLEPS staff, supporting the various programmatic efforts, while assisting with program coordination and development in partnership with campus and community stakeholders.


Job Title:                               Summer Student Assistant (2 positions available)

Department:                          Center for Student Leadership, Ethics & Public Service

Term:                                      May 18 – August 19, 2016

Hours:                                    20/hrs per week

Compensation:                     $9-10 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Customer service within CSLEPS office suite as the front-line representative
  • Represent CSLEPS at New Student Orientation, June – July (presentations and information table)
  • Facilitate team-building and leadership trainings
  • Coordinate service activities in partnership with campus stakeholders
  • Create engaging content for CSLEPS social media accounts and increase user participation
  • Assist with Service NC State programming
  • Assist with benchmarking and evaluation of existing programs, and researching of peer programs



  • Must be available to work 11:30am – 2:30pm M-F (additional 17 hours are flexible M-F 8:30am – 5:00pm)
  • Select evening and weekend availability to assist with summer service projects
  • Enthusiastically and professionally engage with students, families, staff, faculty, and community partners
  • Creative, innovative, and openness to learning,
  • Passion for leadership and service
  • Experience presenting to multiple audiences
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Previous experience participating in CSLEPS programs and initiatives is preferred
