Energy and Justice in North Carolina

Energy and Justice in North Carolina – NEW this Year!

Throughout our week, you will tour North Carolina, learning about the environmental and social consequences of energy policy decisions made throughout our state’s history. From blocked wind power, to coal ash pollution, to conflicts between indigenous authorities and the oil industry, students will engage with the intersection of energy, environment, and justice in North Carolina by participating in service-learning activities within the affected communities. Ideally, this trip will deepen participants’ appreciation for the complexity of environmental issues in North Carolina and encourage lifelong activism for just and equitable energy solutions.
