NC State alumni are invited to participate in the Alumni Alternative Service Break trip. In partnership with the Fuller Center for Housing, this international service-learning trip connects alums and local Rotarians in a hands-on, week-long service project. Participants will help build homes with local families in need in the rural fishing village of Las Penitas, Nicaragua.
“We were very excited to be able to start the alumni trip last year,” said Adam Culley, Assistant Director of CSLEPS. “Last year’s participants really served and connected in great ways, and in the process helped us to support more opportunities for current students. That’s what this trip is all about, so we’re excited about doing it again.”
Alumni and supporters of CSLEPS are encouraged to apply for participation in the trip that raises travel funds for NC State students to take part in service-learning programs.
“The Cary Page and West Raleigh Rotary Clubs have been financial supporters of the ASB program for many years,” said Culley. “We were happy to have several Rotarians as a part of our group last year. The mix of alumni and community members led to a lot of great reflection, allowed us to build on partnerships and create new ones.”
Interested alumni and friends of the ASB program may complete the online interest form for early consideration.
